NYSC Director General Warns Corps Members Against Unauthorized Travels, Urges Vigilance and Commitment to Community Service





The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has issued a stern warning to Corps Members against traveling out of their States of deployment without prior approval from the NYSC. This caution came during his visit to the 2024 Batch 'C' Stream Two Corps Members, who are currently undergoing their three-week induction at the Nasarawa State Orientation Camp in Magaji Dan Yamusa, Keffi.

General Ahmed emphasized that it is a violation of the NYSC regulations for any Corps Member to travel without obtaining the necessary clearance, and such offenders would be dealt with according to the NYSC byelaws. He further advised that, if travel is absolutely necessary, it should not take place during the night.

The Director General also urged Corps Members to remain vigilant about their personal security, avoiding any risky behaviors or adventures that could jeopardize their safety. He stressed the importance of adding value to their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) and host communities, by diligently serving and executing impactful projects that would improve the living standards of residents.

In her camp report to the Director General, the NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, Mrs. Salamatu Muhammed, shared that a total of 2,412 Corps Members were registered in the state, comprising 1,538 from Nasarawa and 874 dislodged from the FCT. She also reported that the Corps Members had exhibited a strong sense of discipline and fully embraced the camp administration’s directives
