The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has secured the conviction of a 66-year-old man, Ibrahim Musa, for human trafficking in Yobe State. In a statement on its verified Facebook page on Saturday, the agency revealed that Musa was found guilty of procuring and exploiting a 14-year-old female victim. He was arraigned before the Yobe State High Court II, Damaturu, presided over by Hon. Justice Lawu Lawan. The crime, which violated Sections 13 and 16(1) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015, led to his conviction on January 6, 2025. Katsina State Police Command has said it neutralised 11 suspected bandits and rescued 85 abducted persons in January 2025. Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked a mosque in Bushe community, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto state. During the attack, the bandits kidnapped no fewer than 10 worshippers, including the Imam. The addition raises the total budget size from N49.7 trillion to N54.2 trillion. Tragedy struck in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as a fire outbreak at an Islamiya school claimed the lives of at least 17 Almajiri students. Governor Fubara of Rivers State budgets N3.5billion to renovate his residence in 2025 after spending N3.2billion on same residence in 2024 Fubara also budgeted another N2.6 billion for the renovation of his office building. The Rivers Governor also budgeted another N1.5billion for renovating the First Lady’s office building. N350 million was budgeted for buying canteen/kitchen equipment at the Staff Canteen in the government house.
